Richmond real estate magnate commits nation’s largest Jazz gift to VCU

Managing general partner of Crenshaw-Singleton Properties and jazz enthusiast for more than 50 years, W.E. Singleton committed $2 million to benefit the Jazz Studies Program in the School of the Arts, the largest gift ever made in the United States to support university-level jazz education.

In appreciation for Singleton’s gift, VCU has renamed its Performing Arts Center the W.E. Singleton Center for the Performing Arts.
