VCU Massey Comprehensive Cancer Center’s 50th Anniversary Golden Gala took place Oct. 24, 2024. The spectacular black-tie event at Richmond’s historic Main Street Station celebrated the power of research and generosity. Honored guests Suleika Jaouad, New York Times bestselling author and cancer survivor, and her husband, Jon Batiste, five-time Grammy Award-winning musician, shared their perspectives on the power of love. Batiste dazzled guests with a musical performance including the Grammy-nominated song “Butterfly,” which he wrote for his wife. It was a memorable evening of reflection and inspiration for all.
